Molly Wizenberg’s Americano

2011 June 12

Last month I was browsing through Design Sponge, one of my favorite home design blogs, and I stumbled upon a drink recipe that has quickly become my hot weather go-to cocktail.

The drink is an Americano and the recipe comes courtesy the amazing Molly Wizenberg. You might know Molly from her award-winning blog Orangette or her book A Homemade Life, or you might be lucky enough to have eaten at Delancey, the restaurant she owns with her husband Brandon Pettit in Seattle (in which case I hate you).  Either way, she’s awesome, and so is this drink. After a long, hot day at work this is the ultimate wind-down cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Campari
  • 1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
  • club soda
  • a slice of orange

Methodology

Makes 1 serving

Fill an old-fashioned glass (or any short, wide-mouth glass with a capacity of about 8 ounces) with ice cubes. Add Campari and sweet vermouth, and stir to mix. Top off with club soda. Garnish with an orange slice.
