2010 June 27

Head on over to the News & Observer website to read N&O Food Writer Andrea Weigl’s great profile of Phoebe Lawless, owner and operator of the recently opened (and much lauded, including here) Scratch Bakery in downtown Durham.

Celebrated baker starts from scratch in Durham, by Andrea Weigl

(Ego boost – my name is mentioned in the first paragraph. But who’s keeping track?….)

    Hi Matt!
Thanks so much for visiting! The cheese came from the Estes Market on Saturday- love that place, but I SO miss some of the larger markets I knew up north. I have a friend in Portland who posts and her Farmer’s Market would have you DROOLING! We’re pretty excited- we’ll be in the Chapel Hill News next week. I’ve been sending people over to Kitchenworks- got a ton of response in my email about the gnocchi board I use :) Have a great week!

And by the way- I read that article and I DID take note that you were her first customer! LOL

I’m so glad that you love the South Estes Farmers Market! I’m actually on the Board of Directors, and I work part time for Hillsborough Cheese Company, so I hope you enjoyed our cheese! I’m definitely excited to read the article in the Chapel Hill News!
