Fearrington + Local Beer = Roost

Roost, the new beer garden at Fearrington Village
Someone down at Fearrington Village is a genius.
, Fearrington’s new beer garden, opened the other week and I can already tell that I’m going to be making regular visits. I stopped by during their soft opening and was immediately impressed with the whole venture. I’ve always been a fan of Fearrington in general, and with Roost they stick to what they know: timeless country class that is both relaxing and refreshing. With Carolina Brewery beers on tap, a selection of wines by the glass or bottle, and snacks whipped up by the Fearrington Inn kitchen, Roost is the perfect place to relax with friends, get some sun, or just read a book.
I chose the latter, enjoying two glasses of beer while I plowed through Stieg Larsson’s Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (highly recommended, by the way). They had some acoustic musicians playing on the porch, a nice touch that I’m hoping will be a permanent fixture. Folks began to trickle in as the afternoon wore on, mostly a mix of Fearrington residents, their dogs, and Fearrington employees, but I’m sure as word gets out the crowds will only grow. By the time I left almost all the tables were filled and there was a line to get drinks; pretty good for a soft opening!
Roost is the perfect watering hole for those wanting to sit back and relax with a beer without all the madness (or college crowds) of a bar in Chapel Hill or Durham. The gardens are gorgeous, the mood laid-back but classy, and the beer great. If you have a free afternoon I definitely recommend taking a short drive down there and giving Roost a try, I promise you won’t regret it!
Roost is located next to the Fearrington House Country Inn in Fearrington Village, off 15-501 in Pittsboro. Roost is open Wednesday – Sunday from 12pm to 8pm. For more information or call 919.542.1239.

Yet more proof I am living in North Carolina’s lamest city.
Greetings from Charlotte,
